Hartland Comedy Night Fundraiser

2024 Event

Hartland hosted its second annual comedy night at Crystal Gardens in Howell last Friday, February 2.  90+ family and friends of our Hartland site enjoyed an evening of laughter, food, drinks, and silent auction prizes ALL donated by our teams.  Special shout-out to our sponsor Bonefish Grill!!  The event helped to raise money for the Reds Scholarship Fund which helps qualified players get an additional bit of financial aid to play for us.  It was a great night and the support of our soccer family really means a lot to the club!

Comedy Line-Up

Matt Wolf - Host

Originally from Fenton Michigan, Matt Wolf has been performing comedy on stages across the Midwest and Las Vegas. A former firefighter, a wounded combat veteran, a lawyer, Matt hasn’t found a job he won’t do or be fired from. Seriously, are you hiring?

Catch Matt opening for Tom Green in April at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle in Royal Oak.

Matt also produces the Post Show, a monthly comedy show and fundraiser for the VFW.  The Taliban didn’t miss him and you shouldn’t either.

Dave Mishevitz - Feature

Dave Mishevitz was born and raised in Metro Detroit. An EMU grad, who began his comedic journey as a founding member of Ball State University’s improv/sketch troupe, Absolunacy.

After a handful of standup performances in Chicago he moved west to Los Angeles and became a paid regular of The Improv and has his name scribed on The Comedy Store wall. He performed, wrote and directed sketch comedy with The Straitjacket Society and was a freelance writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night in the Afternoon. Friar’s Club member, Barry Dougherty, included Dave in his book, ‘How to do it Standing Up.'

Between 2005-2010 he was honored to travel with Comics on Duty serving up laughs to those who serve in Iraq, Afghanistan, Southwest Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, Central America, Europe and Greenland. He's performed at FOBs, PRTs, bases and aboard aircraft carriers, has sailed through the Panama Canal, even pulled rear security on a Striker ride through Mosul. You can tag-a-long on one of his trips in the documentary, ‘We Love You Mrs. Bevins.’

A SAG/AFTRA actor, you’ve seen his face and heard his voice in a multitude of commercials. He has also appeared in the Steven Soderbergh film, ‘No Sudden Move,’ and has a role in the upcoming Mike Young film, ‘Stealing Jokes.’

Dave co-hosts the podcast Kids vs. Cats and performs standup at clubs and venues around the Detroit Metro area, having recently won a Hip-Prov show, keeping his improv chops satiated. He created ‘Cellmates,’ a 25 episode online animated series, providing levity to his family's infertility journey and the comedy of coupledom that ensues.

Preston Hart - Headliner

After fathering a brood of toddlers, Preston got into comedy as a way to cope with the stress.  It was either that or heavy drinking.  He chose both.

Since then, he has brought his hilariously astute observations and sordid tales from the trenches of fatherhood to stages all over Michigan, including the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase, One Night Stan’s, and Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, where he was a finalist in the Detroit to LA Comedy Competition. He has opened for Dan Soder, Dan St. Germain, and even some comics not named Dan.

Cynical beyond his years, he’s a father, and a husband, but first and foremost an irreverent bastard.
